The way your BIOS is currently configured, the computer will attempt to boot
If you want to attempt to boot from the USB flash drive, you either have to make it the first option in the list of boot devices (what happens when you press + or - in the 'Boot Device Priority' screen?) or you have to make it the 'first hard drive' so that when the BIOS gets to the third option above, it goes to the USB device.
In the 'Hard Disk Drives' screen, go to '1st Drive' and select the USB drive as the option. Reset '2nd Drive' and '3rd Drive' accordingly.
My minnowboard got corrupted half way through an update. So now I have tried to re-install from memory stick (pfSense-CE-memstick-ADI-2.4.0-RC-amd64-latest.img). I updated the firmware on the turbot to 0.97 first and I'm tried to boot off the usb stick. I have flashed the memory stick twice with dd method (disk and rdisk). Best Practice: Boot Media Selection. Power on the MinnowBoard development board and wait for the UEFI command prompt. On the other hand, it appears that you may not have properly prepared your USB flash drive. If you are able to force the computer to attempt to boot from the USB device from your 'F8 boot menu' and get a 'Missing Operating System' error, you may have just copied the downloaded file without making the USB flash drive bootable. (this is using serial to usb console to my mac)
